For the upcoming winter term 2020/21 the German Academic Exchange Service – DAAD will provide several grants to GRIAT-students to promote studying at the German GRIAT-partner universities, as well as to support students at GRIAT during their studies in Kazan.

There will be three different grants available:

1. Sur Place and Third Country Scholarships

These are 18 scholarships for the first and second semesters (in Kazan), starting this year on September 1, 2021 until August 31, 2022. The scholarship rate is 300 euros / month.

The scholarship is for foreign students (third countries) and for Russian students. For six foreign students is also financed a subsidy for tuition fees in Kazan (850.00 euros / semester).

Required documents for application:

  • - Bachelor degree certificate (translated into English or German)
  • - Breakdown of academic achievements to date
  • - Motivation letter
  • - Curriculum vitae in tabular form including proof of social commitment (if present) and language skills

  • - Data protection declaration signed

The selection is based on merit criteria and is composed of grades achieved during the bachelor's degree program, motivation to study, and volunteer service.

Important note: If a student successfully has applied for the Sur Place scholarship, it will not be possible to apply for the annual scholarship in Germany as well. Participation is only possible within one of these scholarships.

If a scholarship holder discontinues the sponsored study period for reasons that cannot be explained and for which he/she alone is responsible or if the scholarship holder has a poor academic performance, the funds already paid out for this scholarship holder must be paid back by him/her individually to the TU Ilmenau.
